No Changes Required to Financial Statements

Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ:CENT)(NASDAQ:CENTA) today filed its Form 10-Q for the fiscal third quarter ended June 28, 2008.
The Audit Committee completed its previously announced review of issues raised in an employee letter and determined that no changes are required to the Company's financial statements. Furthermore, as a result of the filing of the Form 10-Q, the Company believes it is in compliance with the Nasdaq Stock Market listing requirements and expects the previously announced stock listing hearing, scheduled for October 2, 2008, to be cancelled.
