Central Garden & Pet Reschedules Fourth Quarter & Fiscal 2008 Results to November 26, 2008

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ:CENT)(NASDAQ:CENTA) has announced today that it has rescheduled its fourth quarter and fiscal 2008 earnings conference call until Wednesday, November 26, 2008.

The Company determined that it requires additional time to finalize a possible adjustment to the state tax provision related to its $400 million goodwill impairment charge taken in the first quarter of fiscal 2008.

The Company plans to host a conference call tomorrow morning, November 26, 2008 at 8:30 am Eastern time / 5:30 am Pacific time to discuss its fourth quarter and fiscal 2008 earnings. The dial-in information will be posted to www.central.com and in its earnings press release tomorrow morning.
