Central Garden & Pet’s Heim Receives Pet Industry Lifetime Achievement Award
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ: CENT) (NASDAQ: CENTA), a leading innovator, marketer and producer of quality branded products for the lawn and garden and pet supplies markets announced that Jim Heim, President of Business Development, has received the Pet Industry Lifetime Achievement Award from the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC).
Heim, who served on the PIJAC Board of Directors for seven years, and as the chairman for the past four years, focused his tenure’s efforts on communicating to pet industry and political leaders about the benefits of a healthy companion animal industry, educating others in support of animal welfare, and promoting the numerous benefits of the human-pet bond. Heim also was instrumental bringing the industry together in the innovative Top2Top Conference, a gathering of leaders working to examine the state of the industry, future trends, economic forecasts, changing demographics, and legislative issues in support of the human and pet relationship.
